How the Grade Is Determined

School grades are based on a combination of key performance areas, including:

• Student achievement in core subjects such as English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies

• Learning gains, which measure student academic growth year over year

• Performance of the lowest 25% of students to ensure all learners are supported

• Middle school acceleration and readiness indicators, where applicable

• B – Above average performance

• C – Satisfactory performance

• D – Below average performance
